Teamwork

Running is called an individual sport.

Children are often encouraged to first participate in team sports in an effort to learn the characteristics of team work, team spirit and team power. Hockey, soccer and baseball are pushed by adults on the youth. Personally of course I have a preference and the only real Olympians for me are runners. Who remembers the great hockey teams from Olympics past? Who remembers the record holders, Paula Radcliff and Haile Gebreselassie?

Vrijheid Blijheid is an example of team work.
When someone runs 26 miles straight through and someone else volunteers to stick around for that, carry the bags and coach through the thick and the thin there exists real team spirit.Gerard Klaase recently helped Mirjam and Mark run fantastic performances.

Henk Blokker once ran the whole nine yards with this philosophical person. On Sunday Peter Aardenberg sets off for the big adventure in Etten Leur. In keeping with the team power he will be in the company of Henk Blokker and Menno van Stralen.

The whole group wishes Peter chilly conditions ( his temperature ) and lots of fast miles.

The pictures are two examples of team work! Is it really an individual sport?
